The money in Ukraine is called Ukrainian Hryvnia and in English is Ukrainian Grivnia (plural grivnias).
- 100 UAH = 9.2 EUR (Euros)
- 100 UAH = 12.9 USD(United States Dollars)
One interesting thing is that there are notes of 1 Hryvnia, which does not even gives 10 cents of Euro. In Ukraine you can have a wallet full of notes … of 10 cents.
hehe looks like you’re rich…There are coins of cents, here cents are called kopiyok.
There are notes of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 Grivnas, and coins of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 kopiyok and 1 hryvnia in circulation.
There are many ATM machines in largest cities around the country, but many times some of them have no money, especially the week-end.
